Modern digital technologies — the so-called exponential ones — must be understood to make good use, especially in business. We are no longer witnessing technology used as a lever to perform some sequence of operations better or faster; modern technology makes new scenarios visible and enables new business models.

We call them exponential because they can grow that way and, consequently, adoption also creates exponential advantages. But in my opinion, there is also another consideration: put together, they create a more excellent value than their singular use. Something that I have learned to combine with the holistic view.

The combined use of technologies is the reason for the need for knowledge translation made by those who understand them up to the transistors. This aspect becomes essential not to buy massive technology without exploiting it to improve your business’s competitiveness and organization.

Understanding that artificial intelligence has enormous potential but bases its determinations on a binary computational model that reasons with only two bits, zero and one, helps us to demystify its virtues and treat it as software that can learn from experience and which provides probabilistic outputs. Unlike software that must be programmed to perform that specific action, AI can learn to perform actions or analyze data without being programmed in detail. We tell what we want to achieve, and we upload the available data. AI analyzes and…
