In my work around digital transformation and telecommunications, one shift has become clear: telcos are moving from simple connectivity providers to infrastructure partners for the digital economy.

This is not a semantic change. It reflects how companies now operate.

More business processes, customer interactions, payments, data flows, and operational workflows now depend on digital environments. Connectivity is no longer only about access. It is about keeping the business operational when work, services, and decisions move through digital channels.

Yet many companies still evaluate business internet with an old mindset.

They compare monthly rates, check availability, look at basic performance, and treat the decision as if they were buying a standardized service. That approach made sense when connectivity was mainly about getting online. It becomes much weaker when the connection supports activities that directly affect revenue and customer experience.

Today, business internet can influence how a company processes payments, serves customers, accesses cloud platforms, coordinates distributed teams, and keeps daily operations moving.
